It feels like we’ve been anticipating Keilyn’s arrival since the minute we met Ryan and Kathy. They were one of only a handful of our couple friends who were still enjoying the PK years. (pre-kids) And of course, that’s probably the number one question couples who have been married longer than 6 months get asked – “so when are you going to have kids?” I’m sure they got tired of my nosy sweet husband asking them (now he’ll move onto, “so when are you having baby number two?’ But the neat thing about knowing someone before they have kids is the joy of watching them grow from a couple to a family. Ryan and Kathy seem right at home with the roles of “mommy and daddy,” and it was such a privilege to photograph the 3 of them!
I told Kathy that I have a new “current favorite image,” and it’s from their session. I love the simplicity of this photo, yet how much emotion it conveys — and of course — love those tiny toes.
LOVE. Family of three.
Keilyn was an angel! She slept, gave her daddy a good inaugural dousing, and attempted a quick escape from my basket — all in all, an eventful session.
I know some people don’t like bows on babies, but I’m sorry, really?, how can you resist this?!? You people are missing out!
I wish I had a gallery of images like these of my two babies. This is what changes SO FAST. All those precious baby details – here today – gone tomorrow.
Kathy and Ryan, thank you!! Thank you for allowing me to capture this once-in-a-lifetime moment of your lives, and thank you for being my guinea pigs for my new set-up :) All of these images were shot with studio lights – it was my first go for a newborn session, so I have a little tweaking to do, but I think I might be a convert!
Laura I’m simply blown away. You captured all of the things big and small that make our little Keilyn so unique and beautiful to us. These images are incredible and we will cherish them for a lifetime.
You are the best!
Ryan
