The hard work of parenting happens in all the little moments throughout a day – the moments that aren’t captured on Instagram to be liked by hoards of followers. It’s the correcting and redirecting and feeding and consoling and encouraging and cuddling and messy, beautiful love that makes a parent. When you’re in the throes of it, you can lose sight of the purpose and most importantly, the beauty of the sanctifying work that is parenting. I get the privilege of reminding families that they are completely lovely by capturing their unique, crazy beautiful for an hour. And then they get to look at photos that, hopefully, tell them that this exhausting work is totally and completely worth it. And that it’s always best to just dance in the rain.
P.S. Don’t I have the cutest niece and nephew in the world?!? LOVE.
