A Gift Guide | Mother’s Day | Upland, CA Photographer

We love celebrating the special mother’s in our lives, and you don’t have to spend a fortune to show someone they matter to you!  Here are a few thoughtful ideas for mother’s day – or any day! And if you’re the mom reading this, be sure to forward along to your kids/spouse/friend as a hint.

  1. Signs of Grace – My local friend, Laura, creates these gorgeous hand-painted signs, and of course, I have an affinity for this particular garden stake. It would make a beautiful gift for any mother in your life paired with a rose bush, a fruit tree, or any garden plant! $15 – You can order by contacting Laura taylormade6156@gmail.com
  2. 5 Year Journal – I recently picked up journaling again, and it’s been so good for my soul. I purchased (and love) this Rifle Paper set, which is supposed to be back in stock soon. But this simple one looks lovely as well.
  3. Katie’s Flower Shop Print – When you can support an adoption and get a gorgeous gift, it’s a win/win. One of my best friends, Katie, paints these lovely water color wreaths in a variety of color schemes and will add hand-written quotes, names, or scripture. She’ll even frame them for you so you have a complete gift ready to go.
  4. Penguin Clothbound Classics – A book is always a good idea. The wonderful thing about these particular books is that even if your recipient isn’t a huge reader, these make perfect shelf decor. You really can’t go wrong. Search on Amazon for many more!
  5. GraceLaced – This devotional/coffee table book is truly stunning. I was gifted it by my friend (Katie of Katie’s Flower Shop!), and it’s packed with nature watercolors, inspiring scripture and lots of truth. Ruth created it as an art journal, so it would be a lovely gift paired with some watercolors and paper.
  6. Giving Keys – Purchasing a Giving Key helps create job opportunities for people transitioning out of homelessness, and they’re based right here in Los Angeles. My husband gifted me my first key, and it adds style to any outfit while also creating lots of talking points when people ask why you’re wearing a key! I’ve actually gotten to share about my word “Anchored” multiple times.
  7. Laura Watson Photography Gift Certificate – Every mom wants photos with her family and loves it when the husband is on board from the get-go. Session gift certificates come packaged and ready to gift, and sessions just need to be booked within six months. Email laura@laurawatsonphotography.com if you’d like to purchase one!
