It’s a Claremont Wilderness Trail love story for the ages. Three years ago to the day Dain and Stephanie met at the trail head with a group of friends for a hike on the loop.
After a year and a half of friendship, a year and a half of dating, and all kinds of crazy adventures in between, Dain proposed to Stephanie in the same place.
He told her he was receiving an award so he’d invited his friends and family to watch him receive it. Knowing Dain, this story is entirely plausible.
So Stephanie arrived with Dain, and while she thought we were all waiting for some official to arrive and start the ceremony, we were actually all waiting for the plane to fly over pulling the banner.
I don’t think she believed it when she first saw it. Dain took her by the hand and led her to the rose petal heart where he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife.
