After my younger sister, Amy, moved to Los Angeles earlier this year, my mom gifted my other sister, Anne, my daughter, Kate, and me a trip to LA with her. We spent most of our time in Marina del Ray, Venice and Santa Monica. Kate took her first dip in the Pacific Ocean and had her first surf lesson from her Uncle. We picnicked on the Santa Monica Pier with In-n-Out to watch Frozen on the outdoor screen. We walked lots, sailed a little looking for sea lions in the marina, and ate at the most perfect open-air restaurant in Venice. Most of all, we laughed, enjoyed sister/mom/daughter time and soaked up the Cali sun.
