When we started looking for homes in Upland, California, it was a little depressing, and I wasn’t sure we would ever find anything that we both loved. I wanted an older home with historic charm, and my husband wanted something new with modern touches. Ahem. Cue dramatic house hunting sessions. One other caveat – We wanted absolutely NO carpet. Anywhere. ANYWHERE.
Enter our sweet 1910 California bungalow with the perfect amount of charm, an interior overhaul to keep the hubs happy, and not a stitch of carpet to be found.
Welcome to our new/OLD home =)
One of my favorite things we own is this painting of the town where Andy’s grandparent’s live in England.
I love decorating with books. I would do wall to wall bookcases in every room if I could!
The framed quote is from a Delirious? song that my husband would sing to me when I was freaking out….which totally never happens. Then I found out it was originally a Bob Marley song. But just to clarify, I’m quoting Delirious? here. I’m definitely not cool enough to have a Bob Marley quote framed in my house.
I chalk painted the piano black after we moved, and I love how it turned out.
Incorporated my Paw-Paw’s hat and an All Sons and Daughters print. The maps frame makes me laugh. England, Uganda and Texas…All places that are near and dear to our hearts. And yes, we refer to Texas as The Republic of Texas.
I knew I wanted to do a statement piece on that dining room wall, but I wasn’t sure if I should go with the gallery wall or one HUGE piece. When I get tired of the gallery, I’ll switch to a giant canvas or print.
We took the cabinet doors off for fun, but it’s nice knowing I can put them on later if I decide I want a cleaner look.
Thanks for stopping by! Next time I’ll take you upstairs!
It is absolutely perfect, friend :).

Looks beautiful. I love all of it. You have such a great sense of style and an eye for details. I guess that is what makes you a great photographer, too.
Your grandpa’s hat on the wall is my favorite! It’s a beautiful home!
