This sweet boy is about to turn one, and I just adore him and his mama, Tira. It’s no small thing to move across the country and not know a soul in the city you now call home, so when someone reaches out, takes you on a tour of your city, asks you to lunch and playdates with your kids – you know that person is a gem. And when that person is another photographer, and she hires you to photograph her adorable son, you know you’ve hit the jackpot.
I had seen these gorgeous yellow flowers all over Mt. Baldy, and knew I wanted to use them as a backdrop for some sessions. So the evening of our shoot, we drove up the mountain ready for a quick mini session. The minute we opened the car door, the thunder rolled and rain drops fell from the sky. I could not believe my sunny, California, skies had turned gray. But when you’re an on-location, lifestyle photographer, you just roll with it. And honestly, these images totally work with the gorgeous light that night.
These two have such a special connection. I love both of their open-mouth smiles!
Oh sweet John David and mama! Love these images! Such a happy family! Happy almost first bday JD!
Love the poses but that little one is a natural! John David’s smile makes you smile just looking at these pictures. I love the happiness in Tira’s face as she looks into her son’s face. Laura, you have certainly captured the love between a mother and her child.
Omgoodness! These pictures are so precious!
